Amber. Just a recorder in the orchestra of life.

"Truly an inspiration." —no one

Well, it’s a week before the tin anniversary of m’girl’s death date, and folks are rolling out the red carpet (or the newsstand equivalent), in commemoration. Those of you who are old enough~* to remember, LIFE put together a lovely hardcover tribute to her life and career in 2003, and obviously I own, like, three copies because when you’re steadily obnoxious about a celebrity for about five years and then that celebrity DIES, people like to dump things on you, covered with said celebrity. (I now have no idea where any of these copies are.) I’d heard that LIFE was doing something similar for the 10th anniversary of her passing, and went to my local supermarket to check it out. So, for those who asked: No, I am not buying this. Because it’s the same book with ‘10 Years Later’ slabbed on the cover. Also, it’s paperback. BUT, seeing as how I’d specifically made the trip for this one thing, I decided to be a dumbass with it. An activity that hasn’t ceased being the source of so much unadulterated mirth, even though I’m technically a grownup. Nothing is more amusing than this.

Behind a cut, just ‘cause.

Yeah, I don’t know what it would be, either. Probably respectable. I’ve turned the Hepburn “”“fandom”“” into a sewage dump. MAYBE SOMEDAY I’LL WRITE A LEGITIMATE RETROSPECTIVE ON HER CAREER (UNLIKELY), BUT THAT DAY IS NOT TODAY.
